Archana-Ashtothram Pooja is a Hindu ritual where devotees offer prayers and flowers to a deity while chanting their 108 names (Ashtottara Sata Namavali). It is a form of worship aimed at invoking blessings for prosperity, peace, and well-being. The ritual is performed by priests who recite the deity's names and offer flowers, symbolizing the devotee's reverence and devotion.

Purpose:

The primary purpose of Archana-Ashtothram Pooja is to seek divine blessings, prosperity, and peace for the devotee and their family. It is believed to bring positive energy and remove obstacles from one's life.

How it's performed:

The priest will usually begin by invoking the deity's presence and then recite the Ashtothram, the 108 names, offering flowers with each name. The devotee may also be present and participate by offering flowers or chanting along.

Personalized Worship:

Before the chanting, the priest identifies the devotee by their name, Nakshatra, and Gotra, making the Archana a personal and individual experience.

End of Ritual:

The Archana often concludes with the waving of a camphor flame (arati) to the deity, signifying the dispelling of darkness and the presence of divine light.
